A history of healing

Our practice has been a trusted cornerstone of the Hendersonville community for over 45 years

1977
Dr. James Brown, a chiropractor, stumbled upon Hendersonville, Tennessee, in the mid-1970s while searching for a location to establish his practice. A chance encounter in a Nashville elevator led him to discover the town's need for chiropractic services. In 1977, Brown Chiropractic opened its doors in a converted house on West Main Street, marking the beginning of a long-standing presence in the community.
1980
In 1980, Dr. James Brown relocated his chiropractic practice to its current location at 635 East Main Street. This move marked a significant milestone for the clinic, as it quickly grew to become the largest and busiest in the state, attracting patients from a wide area.
1991
Dr. Brown's son Cliff, known affectionately as "Dr. Cliff" to his patients, joined the practice in 1991. His path to becoming a chiropractor was a surprising one. Originally intending to pursue a career in medicine, Cliff was on his way to visit his future wife when he was involved in a devastating car accident. The injuries he sustained left him with a paralyzed left arm. Despite the dire prognosis from medical doctors, his father, Dr. James Brown, intervened with his chiropractic expertise. Through his father's care, Cliff miraculously regained the use of his left arm, inspiring him to follow in his footsteps. Cliff worked alongside his father until his passing in 2007.
2022 - Present
Today, the third generation of Browns is carrying on the family tradition of healing. Echoing the spirit of his late grandfather, Dr. Dakota Brown joined the practice in 2022. Dakota's interest in chiropractic began during his teenage years when he experienced its benefits firsthand while recovering from a sports injury. Inspired by his recovery, he pursued a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic after graduating from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology.
